Land of Ong Bak Day 4 - Mr. Jones Orphanage Cafe, Siam Center

Assalamualaikum. สวัสดี!

Continuation from here

In my last entry of the trip to Land of Ong Bak, I did mentioned that we will be exploring Bangkok city the next day. I totally forgot that we decided to only pay the temple(s) & palace a visit after the 'hari melebur poket' day.

We woke up pretty early on our 4th day in Thailand. Bersiap ala kadar & we headed to our destination without having breakfast. Macam ndak sabar kan mau bakar poket. Our first destination was the Platinum Fashion Mall; reachable via BTS Chitlom Station. While walking on the Central World Skywalk we were approached by one fine lady; wearing a kebaya as her top. She suddenly asked where we're heading. I brilliantly told her where we're going.

"Ouh, since today is Wednesday many mall closed half-day because the Thai people went to pray. Wednesday is our prayer day. The mall will only open after 2pm."

I was quite surprised upon hearing that because I never read anywhere in the internet saying that the malls in Bangkok closed half-day on Wednesday.

"What u wanna do at Platinum Mall? If u wanna buy souvenirs, I can bring u to Siam Silk. Just opposite the Siam Center. They sell cheap souvenirs."

THATS IT! I know it sounded fishy when she told me about the half-day thingy. Now that she has spoke up about the cheap souvenir shop I immediately knew it's a scam. Sorry Aunty Kebaya, u don't look convincing enough for us.

"It's ok. We're going to Siam Center first. And don't wanna buy any souvenir. We'll get that from the market later. Thanks."

Sambil aku kasi hadiah muka poker face. We sure look like tourist to u Aunty kebaya but we ain't that gullible. Gitu kan confident aku jawab. Part kedai murah aku ndak mau percaya, tapi part mall buka lambat...I half-heartedly bought her words. Choi betul!

Thus I decided to just walk to Siam Paragon instead using the skywalk. Memang exercise supertapaki terbaik di awal pagi. Ada tujuan pun aku mau menerjah area ni. Ndak lah sampai mau rabakkan poket di Paragon tu, aku kaya level gaban lagi. Just that, prior coming I have jot down few cafe in my ngopi-list. Few of the creative dessert cafes I found from Lily's blog. Trip Ong Bak ni memang banyak ceduk ilmu dari dia. I wanted to go to at least two or three cafes but managed to tinggal jejak at one cafe only. Nevermind for I will be back in no time. Gitu ayat untuk assure diri sendiri.

Bangkok City
Location: Amarin Plaza.
I have always wanted to take a pic with Ronald doing the sawadeekap gesture. Mission accomplished. Siap lah sama color baju kan.
Peta kami di awal pagi. Walked all the way from BTS Chitlom Station to Siam Paragon.
Cuma lah mampu posing depan mall ni. Poket sedia rabak even before shopping dalam ni. Sobs.
Enjoyed view dancing fountains jak lah depan mall ni.
It is not hard to spot the cafe. In front of Siam Center entrance, u could already see the cafe's interior. Take the escalator up.
Unique shop at Siam Center.
Considering we were there quite early in the morning, we don't have to join any queue. It was said, it could get a bit crowded during lunch hour.
My breakfast companion.
The bears are the orphans in this 'orphanage cafe'.
Comfy seat for the guest.
Selections! That rendered me drooooooling! Gila ok gila. Sweet tooth like moi should never entered such cafe, especially kalau time tu sudah isytihar 'musim untuk kurangkan berat badan'.
For the price of ~RM 13.00, I'd say the portion is quite generous. Best seller means sedap tahap gaban. Keluar dari cafe, ada pelestik contains a slice of cake. Dasar! Diet ke laut, dengan rasminya.

I can't help but to imagine how they managed to dust all these! Gigih ok demi cafe comel.
Our milk-infused drink.
We settled for apple pie + vanilla ice cream. The pie wasn't baked well but I finished it still. Ms G didn't quite like food that is associated with fruit. Because as per her "Saya suka makan buah yang fresh." So yeah, yang enjoyed mentekedarah adalah Yours Truly. *tunduk sepi*
Breakfast with my girlfriend di tanah Bangkok. Gitu kan caption.
The entrance to where? The restroom! Gila gempak lak Siam Center ni. Siap ada display different kind of perfumes upon entering. Kalau di KK ni, percuma jaklah mau buat display. Memang akan lenyap sekelip mata. Oh my negeri.
And this...behind the toilet door I went in. Pecah ketawa aku masa baca ni. Yes I believe I can, that's what ndak jadi aku buat business dalam tu.
Food court located at the 4th Floor in Siam Center Mall. I saw one stall with halal sign. The Indian Cuisine that is (right corner in the pic above).
We wandered around Siam Center for a while before making our move out. Someone seems can not wait any longer to burn her pocket. Masa ni perut sudah kenyang so dapatlah berfikir tenang. Mustahil Platinum Mall tu buka after 2pm. With high confidence we decided to just terjah the mall. Kali ni malas sudah jalan kaki so we rode the train. It was only a station away for God sake tapi sebab sayang tenaga (read: malas)!

Turned out! Mall tu buka macam biasa. Fine! Fine Aunty Kebaya telah berjaya memperdaya kami. Luckily cuma bab mall opening hours. Ndak palah, we forgave her. If not because of her, maybe aku ndak sempat pun singgah Mr Jones cafe. Thing happened for a reason. Gitu lah cara muhasabah diri, kan Bie.

We didn't take much pictures at Platinum Mall. Alkisah kan sibuk mengosongkan poket. Walhal...sibuk cuci mata tengok baju bajan yang 2-saiz ke bawah dari saiz aku. Kenapa perlu jual blouse comel yang kecil. Sedih. Ok, part shopping mhopping nanti aku continue.
