Liburan Day 2 - Bandung Revisited

Sambungan dari sini.

Before I scribble more about my trip to Bandung, let us together pray the safety for the flood victims in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. I know apart from the du'a there sure are many ways to alleviate the difficulties they're facing right now. Instead of irritating or bashing people in the internet *regarding the flood that is*, just do something. Do our part. It doesn't matter if it's big or small as long as it meant to help the victim. 

To quote my friend. Don't ask either the contribution channels are reliable or not; follow your gut. 

If you have dilemma the help(s) would be too last minute, or difficult to deliver the aid...just remember that it is never easy to do good deeds. If doing good deeds is easy & without challenges then we couldn't be able to taste the sweetness of pahala.

# Bandung Station
Arrived after three hours (plus) journey from Gambir, Jakarta. Feeling di Paghee bila nampak Du Nord (utara) bagai. 

# Hello Bandung!
From the arrival platform, we have to crossed the railway track to get to the main terminal. Feeling² masuk rural area di Europe lah wei, siap weather pun a bit gloomy. Suddenly snowing. Ok, ignore.

Dari Bandung Station, kami hire supir van untuk hantar ke hotel di Jalan Riau. Worry not, memang ramai jak pak supir akan offer service once u reach the main building. Sebab kami berenam, so eloklah naik van. Share bayar tambang ndak lah rasa mahal sangat pun.

Sah ndak cukup untuk perut kami berenam kan.

Sampai hotel, refreshed sikit & tunaikan apa yang patut...it's time untuk isi perut. By the way, we stayed at Grand Serela, Jalan Riau during the four days we were in Bandung. As usual review pasal hotel aku buat dalam entry lain. 

Petang tu sebab semua lapar, we decided to go out for dinner first. And ronda area sekitarnya. Mana yang sempat & larat. Kami naik teksi jak dari hotel. On the way pi Cihampelas Walk Mall, aku nampak banyak kedai sepanjang Jalan Cihampelas mau tutup sudah. Maka punahlah harapan Ms P untuk tawaf Jeans Street tu.

Last time aku terkejut beruk nampak dia ni bertenggek atas tu. Banyak lagi cartoon characters hanging depan kedai² sepanjang jalan tapi aku memang mau ambil gambar dia ni jak. Kenangan! 

Kenapa aku rasa Bandung ni special? Sebab Bandung lah titik tolak aku mula gila berjalan. Semangat untuk travel mula berkobar ever since I went back from here. Masa mula² pi sana, aku tersangatlah naif. Beli tiket pun untuk cuti selama empat hari jak. Sobs. Pastu stay rumah kawan aku yang kebetulan tengah study di sana. Dari supir to places to visit; semua dia yang tolong arranged. The only place that I knew at that time was Tangkuban Perahu. Tu pun sebab si Ernie sudah jejak. Should she not mention about it, memang buta Bandung aku masa tu.

While waiting for the other three to arrive, kami posing lah depan signboard ni. CiWalk sudah sempurna renovasi nya. Sebab last time I was here, tempat ni masih ditutup sama kanvas. 

# Yang ni memang tiada last time. Four years is a long time Bie. What do u expect?

# We chose to have dinner at Baso Malang, Platinum.

# Gigih kan naik tangga pi First Floor semata untuk makan. Cuba di KK, ada nampak muncung sedepa. 

Trip Bandung kali ni memang sempoi. I didn't prepare details itinerary. I didn't do research like I did for my other trips. Sebab memang mau jalan santai tanpa terikat dengan fixed itinerary. Tapi memang aku ada buat guidelines places to visit cuma aku cakap siap², jejak mana yang terlarat.

Pas jamu perut, masa untuk lancarkan penghadaman makanan. Marilah berjalan ukur mall. Just cuci mata dalam mall sebab aku ada personal misi. Empat tahun menanti! Bukan tiada kawan yang selalu ulang alik Bandung tapi aku memang sudah cakap sama diri sendiri, kalau mau beli lagi benda ni...aku akan pergi sendiri. Beli sendiri. Noktah!

So bila keluar jak dari mall, aku terus atur langkah pi kiosk ni!

Akhirnya! Misi terlaksana. Ndak sia² menunggu begitu lama. Kiosk masih di tempat yang sama aku jejak dulu. Else, memang satu kerja lagi lah kan terpaksa mencari tapak baru diorang.

Mula² aku jak yang sakan membeli, diorang yang lain jalan ntah ke mana. Merayap usha kedai² lain kali. But bila diorang datang balik & tengok hasil pembelian aku...diorang pun terberkenan. Maka, kejadian pilih design & beli-terbelah pun terjadi. Senyum lebar Adik Kiosk! Beli bukan sikit pula tu masing2. Alhamdulillah.

Tshirt macam ni memang aku minat. Nae style, gitu. Last time aku beli "Sumpah, Aku Pernah Kurus" & "Sumpah, Kulitku Pernah Putih". This time, aku beli for my brothers & anak buah²an.

# More open cafe options

Sebenarnya banyak jak pilihan cafe di CiWalk ni. Cuma tulah, hati ditarik untuk menjamu selera di BMK. Plan untuk lepak ngopi pas nyopping tapi mostly kedai ndak terima order sudah masa tu. Datang lewat lagi kan Bie, memang itulah hasil kejadian. 

# Sebenarnya dalam diam jatuh chenta konsep cafe macam ni. Open cafe concept, lampu gantung². One day, insha Allah.

Kami ada singgah one coffee kiosk before balik. Tapi memang sudah malas mau menggambar. Tengok CiWalk yang makin berkurangan orang, terus rasa mau balik cepat. Baru sedar diri adalah penat & perlu rest. 

So balik lah kami malam tu. Naik teksi. Pastu ndak perasan teksi kami naik tu, ada sticker yang tulis minima 15,000 IDR. Kiranya regardless dekat or murah tambang tu, if it's less than 15,000 IDR then memang diorang akan charge 15,000 IDR. Hampas betul. Tau kalu, better naik metered-taxi yang berbaris depan CiWalk tu. 

Sampai hotel, mandi lagi. Walau malam, aku tetap berpeluh. Mau cakap Bandung ni panas...ndak juga lah tapi aku tetap rasa rimas. Lepas lepak² layan internet bagai, kami pun belayar ke alam mimpi. Esok aktiviti adalah jauh ke area gunung ganang. Jadi kenalah rehat secukupnya.

From KotaKinabalu to Bandung

This trip was really a trip that I will never be able to erase from my memory...for the rest of my life. It was truly an impromptu plan to Bandung as far as I could remember. I was chatting with one of my junior during high school Imot; who was at that time attending Medic School in Bandung when this whole idea of visiting her came up out of nowhere. Next thing I knew, I was already busy saving up for the trip. I bought the tickets during the promotion season & yeah, I got one helluva fare for a return ticket. 

My FIRST SOLO trip. All alone all the way from Kota Kinabalu-Kolumpur-Bandung. And I arrived Bandung on the first day of Ramadhan. But menses decided to accompanied me during my visit hence I didn't get the chance to experience fasting there. Rugi!

I stayed at Imot's place in Cipaganti. As it was already near dusk when I landed & Imot had to break her fast...we went to the mall nearby her kosan (in Indonesian means Rumah Kos Khusus untuk Mahasiswa/Mahasiswi Universitas) a.k.a rented house. Paris van Java, one of the infamous mall in Bandung is just a walking distant from Imot's place. We took the angkot; the green no-door public transportation to the mall to save time. And it was my first time as well riding on it...u just have to shout "Kiri...kiri" to tell the driver to stop at ur destination. U may need to raise ur voice a bit in order to be heard as the traffic is quite loud there. Yup, from what I saw I think everything in Bandung is in 'fast lane'. 

Mall for the 'affordable' class; as I see it. More or so macam mall di Kolumpur; perhaps a bit grander & big. 

The first restaurant I crashed upon arrival. Breaking of fast was on me...treat the hostess who susah payah rush from school to the airport just to make sure she arrived there before I landed. 

First meal & I forgot the name. Aduh sia². Too heavy for someone who wasn't even fasting during the day, yes? That ice-y drink on the left belong to Imot; chop. Aku ndak kebulur sampai order 2 drinks ok.

Imot...gambar time masih mahasiswi. Sekarang sudah jadi doktor sebenar. Ndak lama lagi bakal naik pelamin.

Few of the artwork of their local. But in the mall standard lah kan mark up price double triple. Managed to grab few very interesting t-shirts with superb wordings here. 

After PVJ, took a cab to Cihampelas Walk or also known as CiWalk by the local. We toured Ciwalk by foot because it is good for exercise after taking ur meal...so the then future-doctor said. Aku rakyat jelata menurut perintah jak la.

Entrance to this mall sangat mentaksubkan...but no picture of it because it was too dark it's impossible for me to take picture of the ala-hutan entrance. Lagian laluan itu sedang direnovasi lagi.

I was too busy awing around I forgot to ask Imot to take my picture. Lucky I found this vain picture somewhere in my Bandung 2008 folder. Macam dalam Sinma or Cindy pun ada kan. Lantaklah...

Imot also took me to the famous Jeans Street. Sepanjang jalan ni memang muntah darah lah meninguk karakter kartun kiri kanan. It's like the cartoon character is the symbol for the shop. Memang meriah. Erk, please ignore pose si Spiderman ni ya. Memang ndak senonoh...berkangkang kera dia di situ. Cuba teka dia ni lelaki ka perempuan. tettttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!

Ok enough with my first evening in Bandung. Will continue later with more stories about this trip. Insya Allah.
