CutiCuti: South Korea Day 3 - Nami Island by Subway Train

Assalamualaikum. 안녕!

Second day in Seoul. Kami bangun lambat dari yang aku planned. Ndak apalah, bukan juga mau rushing kan. Cuti2 gini ndak siok kalau stick terlampau sama itinerary. Seteghes nanti cousin aku tu. Lain cerita kalau aku jalan solo, sukatijiwaraga atur masa sendiri.

Explained why I didn't opt for the shuttle bus like I did the first time I went there. I opted for the intercity train (ITX) the second time...and for the third time, I decided to take the subway. It took longer than by bus & ITX. But the ITX train datang ikut schedule (once every hour or 30 minutes) while the subway train comes more frequent. Furthermore, ITX cost a bit more than the subway.

Oleh kerana this trip is 1+1 wherein aku jadi payung the cousin; maka kenalah opt for the cheapest option. Naik subway ni boleh atur masa sendiri. Pongpang2 berjela, baru intro tu.

After breakfast at the hostel, we walked to the nearest subway station; Sangwangsimni Station. It was already half past 9a when we arrived at the station.

Sangwangsimni (Line 2) bound for Seongsu ---> Wangsimni (Line 2) ---> Wangsimni (Jungang Line) bound for Yongmun ---> Mangu (Jungang Line)
Alighted at Mangu Station. And walk to the direction for Mangu (Gyeongchun Line).

Mangu (Gyeongchun Line) bound for Chuncheon ---> Gapyeong (Gyeongchun Line).
This is the view of Mangu Station (Gyeongchun Line).  Boleh juga turun di Sangbong Station (Jungang Line) but we opted to wait for the train to Gapyeong; here. Masa mula sampai tu, memang cuak tahap gaban. Sebab no one there. And I asked the cousin repeatedly "U think this station sudah start operate ka?". Macam biasa aku dapat feedback do-I-look-like-I-know face. Lucky aku nampak timetable train at the signboard near the platform & after few people suddenly appeared barulah aku ndak panik ayam.

Tren yang ada 'nama' (Jungang Line, Bundang Line etc) ni operate ndak macam subway biasa. They have their own schedule tapi ndaklah tunggu lama sangat. Sebab sejuk gigil tu aku rasa macam berabad sudah aku di stesen tu.
Seriousness! It was damn cold that day. Sampai sekarang ndak boleh lupa. Sikit lagi aku mau buka kuda2 & bersilat di tangga while tunggu tren datang. Bersilat untuk kasi keluar haba badan. Mampu? Cuaca luar biasa sejuk; gigil tahap maksima ok. Maybe area Mangu ni sudah ke atas sikit dari Seoul hence explained the bitter cold. Boleh rasa sampai tulang sum2! Drama sangat.
Train arrived & this was the scene upon embarking. Para Ahjussi & Ahjumma in their hiking attire!! Hoii, biarlah betul? Aku taulah warga kamu suka hiking tapiiiii ni winter ok! Winter means sejuk. Baru di ground pun sudah below zero temperature, apalagi di atas bukit tu. Gigih, sungguh gigih up to the point aku fikir...mampus kalau kahwin Korean gini. Silap haribulan, peak winter tu PIL bawa panjat bukit. Exercise bilang. Geleng kepala laju2 ndak sanggup imagine lagi jauh.

Tapi kenapa perlu poyo sampai imagine kahwin Korean ah Bie? Penyakit?!
One hour journey...kami pun sampai. Few days back maybe lebat snowfall di Gapyeong ni, sisa snow masih ada. But it already turned into ice, so sila berhati2 kalau mau pijak salji beku tu. Silap haribulan jatuh, memang confirm cramped punggung.
Initial plan was to board the Gapyeong Tour Bus but since we deviated from our EDT, we hop on the taxi instead. Tunggu bas yang akan sampai lagi sejam memang not worth it lah kan. Plan hari ni mau cover tiga tempat jadi masa adalah sangat precious for us. The taxi fare is still like last time; 4,300₩.
Parking bay was already full with shuttle & tour buses when we reached Nami Wharf. Luckily the ticket booth wasn't crowded. Maybe most of them have already boarded the ferry or sudah selamat sampai pulau tu. The entrance ticket & return ferry fare cost us 16,000₩.
Kerlas kan! Nami Island is not only visited by foreigner. The locals crowded the place as well. Tiap kali datang Nami, mestilah ramai Korean juga. Diorang ni memang ndak kerja or terlampau banyak cuti untuk ber-holiday.
Harus gagahkan diri guna glove hanya sebelah. The other hand adalah untuk ambil gambar guna handphone kan. Touch-screen gloves aku memang bikin panas. Nipis. Macam ngam guna time spring or autumn jak. Ndak da beza aku pakai gloves or ndak. Beku juga aku rasa.
We came days before the new year tapi the management sudah awal2 tukar 'wish board'. Wishes yang aku nampak last June memang ndak da sudah.
Pose yang diimpikan bukan begini...tapi terpaksalah settled with this jak. Almaklum jauh sekali mau capai tahap posing-macamana-sekalipun-tetaplah-vogue.
Ini memang pose berani mati. Excited sangat nampak snow, lucky belum tukar jadi ais...so masi boleh baring & main baling2 salji gitu. Demi kenangan, sanggup 'kotorkan' baju seluar with snow. Pastu sibuk suruh aku kasi bersih takut nanti snow cair, semua basah.
Sudah round half Nami, perut pun mula berkeroncong. Aku sudah awal2 kestau si Kazen yang kami akan makan nasi kocak di sini. The Drama Cafe is located to the right sight of this frozen fountain. Berjaya dijejak cafe ni setelah frust ndak bertemu di trip lepas. Sob.

Thanks Azra, Zilla & Aza for the direction. Aku ndak tau sudah bertukar lokasi. First time dulu makan di cafe ni, it was located opposite the Nami Library building. Ndak sampai setahun rupanya sudah berubah. No wonder last June ndak jumpa.
That box sangatlah panas u have to wear the gloves to shake it.
Bento Shake at Nami Island. Shake it to the right, shake it to the left, shake it up, shake it down...and jajang!
Nasi Kocak (5,000₩ each) consists of rice+kimchi+egg. That's not omelette alright. Perut tembolok macam kami tambah kimchi pajeon / kimchi pancake (8,000₩)
Sejuk2 memang akan selalu appreciate unggun api. Traditional way to warm the body.
Pigi Nami mestilah harus bergambar sini. Although the view isn't the same like printed on the ticket, kena bergambar cukup syarat. Pokok botak adalah hensem ok.
Yang ni pun mau juga padahal beratus sudah gambar kau at this place Bie oii! Dalam hati doa laju2 moga sampai sini during autumn. Berdarah jak mata tengok pokok tu semua tukar warna di blog orang. From yellow to orange to red. Ur time will come I calmed myself. Insha Allah.
Ok By, sudah kau posing sana. My turn now!
Gitu! Posing di antara pokok2 botak suddenly make me look tall.
My biggest regret during the first trip was not having the gut to walk upon the frozen lake. So I made it a mission this time. I will walk upon any frozen lake I saw in Nami. Alhamdulillah, I made it & another wishlist ticked.
View from the wharf soon after disembarking from the ferry. We left the island 15 minutes past 2p. Next destination would be Petite France. Like last time, we walked to the 7-Eleven store & waited for the tour bus there.
Creativity. This is one of the decoration they have in front of the Information Office. Recycling paling kreatif.
On the way to the bus stop, we saw these two darlings near the Zip Wire entrance. Punyalah suka kena belai. At first the yellow one was standing quite far from us...but when he saw my cousin was taking picture of his friend, he immediately walked & posed like that. Perangai si Debab Cheeloh sangat, attention seeker grrr! Seeing them made me miss the children at home. Sob.
Anyway, I'll continue about Petite France in the next entry. And also will share about the latest Gapyeong Tour Bus schedule. A little bit of amendment has been made.

  6. Unggun penyelamat, saya pergi pertengahan november pun sudah sejuk ndak tahan. Nasi goncang tu saya pun makan, tapi tak kena dengan selera hehehe. Seronok dapat jumpa salji banyak macam ni. Lama eh kalau naik kTX? selalu naik ITX aja.

  7. @RF: Kali ni saya xsinggah pun unggun tu. Poyo habis, kekonon lut-sejuk dah masa tu. Hahaha nasi goncang tu memang kena selera saya sebab saya hantu kimchi. Bukan KTX tu. Saya naik subway biasa. ITX mahal & lambat sebab ikut jadual. Kalau congak2 masa, lebih kurang je ITX & subway ni.

  19. Luna: Boleh tahan gak harga dia, tapi ikut local...reasonable dah price dia tu. Aku suka kimchi pancake, selalu kalau makan aku akan add on menu tu.

Hihi pose baring sambil kuak tangan ala kupu2 lagi epik tau. Orang kat sana xheran kalau kita pose macam mana pun. Rasanya orang kita je yang selalu akan pandang lain macam. Xfaham.
