Land of Ong Bak Day 5 - Wat Pho, The Temple of the Reclining Buddha

Assalamualaikum. สวัสดี!

Ok sikit lagi mau habis sudah entry Ong Bak ni if NOT for my procrastinator being. But before that, aku rasa lately memang bingai aku menjadi. I was being too carried away in spring cleaning my external hard drive, I successfully accidentally deleted MOST of the pictures (Day 5 specifically!!) in the Thailand main folder. Feel like smashing my head on the wall. Every pictures at Wat Pho & few at Grand Palace are now gone with the wind. Only memories remain in my mind. Nothing I could do as I've deleted the files in my dropbox account as well. Eventually haruslah kena pasrah dengan kebingaian sendiri.

Lucky enough I realized my brilliant move & hurriedly cancelled the deleting activity. Phew! Selamat lah juga few pictures di Grand Palace & Asiatique. Even gambar lunch di Yana Restaurant, MBK pun ke laut. Redha lah banyak kali.

Anyway, lets continue with the story. First destination on the fifth day is Wat Pho.

"One of the largest & oldest Wats in Bangkok. It is also a home to more than one thousand Buddha images. This temple is home to one of the earliest Thai massage schools."

Siam Station (Silom Line) ---> Saphan Taksin (Silom Line)

3 July 2014
Bangkok City
# Agak ndak sure which & which line to board or alight, boleh refer belakang BTS train card.
# We walked to Central Pier (Tha Sathorn) where we boarded the Chao Phraya Express Boat (Orange Flag). Fare is 15 Baht (one way).
For more information about Chao Phraya Express Boat service, please refer here. The ticket for the boat service can also be bought at Saphan Taksin & Siam BTS Stations. If u intend to 'hop on hop off' at every piers, just buy the unlimited day ticket for 150 Baht. We opted to pay for single journey ticket because we will only use the boat to two destinations. Wat Pho & Grand Palace.
# Saw this massive 'ship' three times that day. Didn't know what it carries though but it somehow reminded me of Pirates of the Carribean. What is suddenly keluar Sotong boleh bercakap, how?
# We didn't wait long to board the express boat. Service was fast & excellent.
# We got down at N8 Pier (Tha Thien) for Wat Pho, Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Awal pagi sudah berwalkertapaki to the temple. Perlu gigih kalau jadi pelancong ni.
# Entrance ticket. Luckily every visitor is entitles a free drinking water.
# Is that the distance from Wat Pho to Malaysia? Don't ask me.
# Opening hour
# Rules to follow.
# The Reclining Buddha
# The one & only picture I managed to saved. Miss BibiErr with the Reclining Buddha.
# Visitors everywhere. Can't take pictures without them in it.
# Placed in between the head & the foot.
# They say touching the Buddha's foot will bring good fortune. But what's with the "Don't Touch" sign? Perhaps it's because of the fact that the 4.5 m long foot displays are inlaid with mother of pearl!
# It was quite a challenge to take picture of the whole statue of the Buddha because of the many internal pillars. But Ms G managed to do that! Pandai Mama Emma.
# The inscriptions on her foot indicates the 108 auspicious symbols of Buddha.
# Usha the rear area pula. Also covered with gold.
# Pay 20 Baht for a bowl of coins. And later insert them in the 108 crocks placed along the corridor up to the exit door. Jumlah tu indicate the 108 auspicious characters of Budhha. Just like the inscription on the Buddha's foot.
# After exiting the Reclining Buddha 'room', we went to explore the Wat area.
It was so hot when we were out from the room. Throbbing headache attack! Nasib lah ada air, else memang dehydrated. Note to self, sila jangan berangan datang Thai in the middle of the year. Panas membahang lain macam.
# Door that leads to southern walled compound; a working Buddhist monastery with monks in residence & a school.
# Paling gigih siapa yang kerja tampal all those tiles.
# Gates guarded by Chinese giants that are carved out of rocks. We didn't get in the area because all the chedis look the same; to us.
# Pretty intricate artwork I must say.
# Few of the thousand of Buddha images in Wat Pho.
# This may be the monastery area.
Ntah lah ke mana jak kami bawa diri. Rajin keluar masuk building as to avoid being too exposed with the sunlight. Walau kulit memang sedia hitam, belum sedia untuk menambahkan kepekatan 'karbon'. Lepas ronda lebih kurang, we made our move out from the Wat.
# Muka ku semerah warna baju & beg. Sun-burned!
We wanted to head to our next destination ASAP. But tuk2 is too expensive for us. Hence, the boat is our only option. Nasiblah tambang cuma 15 Baht. Memang trip kali ni ndak da naik tuk2 pun. Never mind, nanti bakalan merasa naik juga insha Allah.

Open: 0830am - 0630pm
Entrance Fee: 100 Baht
Direction via Express Boat: Alight at N8 Pier (Tha Thien) & follow the signboard to Wat Pho

Dzu: Sedih giler. Aku ni memang ada penyakit suka hilangkan gambar bak kata kawan aku. Hahaha. Haritu MC aku corrupted masa kat Korea, menung aku fikir gambar daun merahkuning yang hilang.

Memang geometric sangat. Tapi dia memang baring baik punya pose ah. Belakang dia je yang ada curve aku tengok. Tu aku assume dia ni wanita. Gitu.

Siti: Aku baru update entry Grand Palace hihi. Semoga bergumbira di sana eh. Ko gi waktu winter ni best ah. Xde mandi peluh macam kitorang haritu. Have fun! Avoid from being scam tau.

Afif: Dah balik berhanimun ke newly wed ni. Hihi. Haritu sibaik pakai selipar je so xde lah bau x best melekat kat kaki. Kalau saya pakai kasut pun memang fikir banyak kali nak masuk. Hahaha. Faham2 jelah kalau dah berpeluh sakan kan.

kes 'terdelete' fail gambar pernah terjadi pada JM..tapi bukan JM yg delete but travel partner..waktu tu masih di Seoul thn 2011..mlm tu dia nk copy masuk ke antoher ext HD tapi ter'CUT' bukan COPY...mlm tu mmg dia x lena tdo..semua gambar di Namsan Tower..so apa yg kita orang buat pegi semuLa ke Namsan Tower tu semata2 nk tak pic again..gigih kan..tapi mood time tu mmg x sama waktu sebelum ni..muka dalam gambar pun ke laut...nasib baik dia yg delete (not my camera)..kalau JM yg delete folder mahu 'berperang'

keluar sotong boleh bercakap? ahaha..agak2 bahasA apa yg dia guna

alamak...middle of the year panas membahang...nampaknya JM jadi ikan bakar lah next year huhhuu..cuaca panas di msia ni pun DH x tahan..(nampak x sedar diri ekekek)

JM: Kisah gambar terhilang tetiba ni rasanye dah macam sebati ngan semua orang. At least pernah jadi once sepanjang hidup, gitu hahaha.

Sotong macho ok kot. Xpun yang boleh buat macam sotong sambal kat Korea. Yumms.

Xpe berpanas berbahang kejap. Kata tegar kan.
