Wonderful Nov: Drama April Brunei III

Assalamualaikum.

Angan2 aku untuk ronda pasar tu, and mau borong kuih muih Brunei. Bunda sudah pesan awal2.

"Try kuih muih dorang. Sedap tu."

Pastu Aima pun awal2 sudah bentang nama tamu ni.

"Ko mesti singgah Err. Mesti. Siok tu sana tengok orang berjualan."

Malangnya, suddenly pagi tu aku jadi super malas! Berat gila rasa mau suruh badan aku bangkit dari katil. Hati & minda ndak jalan seiring kala ni. Sah salah hotel kan. Kenapa perlu provide katil yang super comfy?! Pfft!

Oleh kerana pagi masih terlalu muda, maka aku sambung tidur. Janji sama Pak Haji jam 9am. Then aku terbangun balik jam 730am. Tengok katil sebelah, Yuni tiada.

"Yuni! Yuni! Yuni mana? Mandi ka?"

"Iya kak!"

Ok cun. Aku sambung tidur, tapi tidur2 ayam. Pastu aku pelik, dekat jam 830am sudah ndak kan belum habis mandi si Yuni ni. So aku pun melolong lagi sekali. Sekalinya...

"Apa kak? Yuni ketiduran di ruang tamu."

"Aik bukan Yuni mandi ka tadi kakak tanya?"

Sharing is Caring - Wudhu atas Khuf

Assalamualaikum.

Pagi kelmarin someone from the fb page I followed, posted this question.
"Salam hi korg. Nak tanya, kalau kite dalam long haul flight kan, mcm mana nak solat ye? Plus, ade sape2 tau tak waktu solat dkt europe utk musim sejuk? Tq for sharing"

Banyak lah orang yang share what they know. Yours Truly pun ndak terkecuali; mau lah juga share apa aku tau & amalkan so far.

Aku ni pula jenis kalau share, memang ayat akan seringkas mungkin. Janji orang faham.

"If naik MAS diorang ada sediakan waktu solat juga. Cari kat tv screen seat. Haritu aku godek2 jumpa, siap2 ada arah kiblat sekali. Nak solat, kat seat sendiri pun boleh. Wudhu pun senang. Kalau xnak buka kasut, cukup sapu air kat kasut 3x."

Autumn Trip Day 5 - Ihwa-dong Mural Village & Goodbye South Korea!

Assalamualaikum.

Seoul Eulalia Festival, Haneul Park (here).

Tamat misi untuk ronda Haneul Park, aku jalan kaki balik pi World Cup Stadium. And from there, I took the train to Hyehwa Station pula. Since trip2 lepas aku asyik lah ndak sempat jejak tempat ni, hence untuk trip kali ni aku paksa untuk disempatkan. Ayat!

Namun harapan tinggal kenangan, masa suddenly jadi sangat jealous sama aku. Ntah apa aku buat di area Ihwa ni sampai ndak sempat naik atas. Maybe lah khusyuk menghayati mural, kan. P to the Yo ada.

Wonderful Nov - Pengukur Gembira

Sejauh mana
Seceruk mana
Sehebat mana
Secantik mana

Bukan destinasi menjadi pengukur.
Tetapi perjalanan itu.

Kadang-kadang destinasi itu terlalu biasa.
Acapkali didatangi ramai orang.

Kadang-kadang destinasi itu terlalu istimewa.
Mampu tinggal kesan dalam jiwa.

Tapi yang buat perjalanan itu indah.
Adalah diri kita.

Jangan pernah biar yang lain ganggu ketenangan.

Tepuk dada, langsung bertanya.
Apa mahunya hati.

Kalau rasa berteman itu hanya menambah beban
Kenapa tidak berpergian sendiri?

Wonderful Nov - Makan Makan with the Ladies

Assalamualaikum.

Yesterday ada small makan2 with my childhood friends. Supposedly ada 7 orang yang join but 2 of them terpaksa tarik diri saat akhir due to personal commitment. Gitu! Daia busy angkat barang pindah rumah, while Finiey kena hantar anak pi kelas pinano.

Ended up, only kami berlima yang sempat ngedate. It's been a while since we last gathered like this. Jangan cakap sebab distance sebab kami yang kerja sekitar KK ni pun jarang jumpa. Aku sama Zai lagilah, satu kawasan. Tapi dalam sebulan, belum tentu terjumpa.

Autumn Trip Day 5 - Seoul Eulalia Festival at Haneul Park, Seoul

Assalamualaikum.

Previous: Sulbing Korean Dessert Cafe (here).

Last day in Seoul! Gitu. Hakikat perlu ditelan, walau pahit tajam berduri. Pagi ni bangun extra awal! Kena gerak awal, ndak boleh waste masa. Time is extra gold on any last day of my holiday! Nasib juga flight jam 7pm so bolehlah lagi berjimba di siang hari.

JM & Ms F cancelled their plan to join me. Ada agenda shopping coat katanye. I left the GH after breakfast.

Autumn Trip Day 4 - Sulbing Korean Dessert Cafe (Jonghyun CNBlue)

Assalamualaikum.

Previous: Nami Island (here).

The night when we had ngeteh session at a cafe in Myeongdong, Ms F suddenly told me about a franchise cafe opened recently by Jonghyun-ssi of CNBlue. And immediately I shouted

"Alaaa kenapa baru tau sekarang. Ok, nak cari masa untuk terjah. Mesti!"

Pastu Ms F buat adlib...

"Aku pun nak ikut. Nak lah gi juga."

So, on the train...on our way back to Seoul that evening I told her about my impromptu plan to visit that cafe. Without second thought, she agreed to tag along. Mau ndak mau, JM pun angguk juga. Ndak kan her partner join aku, dia tinggal di bilik kan.

Later that evening, after our Nami Island day excursion...we went to this cafe.

Ye niL, aku dengar jeritan ko dari kejauhan. Aku mampu lawat cafe je, nak bertentang empat mata belum mampu. *baling lembing*

Autumn Trip Day 4 - Nami Island

Assalamualaikum.

Previous: Beautiful Namiseom (here).

Pagi tu janji sama JM & her partner at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station. Then kami naik subway & stopped at Wangsimni. Tapi aku terlebih bijak, bawa diorang turun di Sangwangsimni. Alkisah aku memang selalu menjadi extra bingai di pagi hari. Kenapa lah kan kalau jalan saturang, lurus jak jalan aku. Tanpa salah train or station. Tapi bila bawa orang, aku jadi blur. Kesian bah orang yang tagged along tu. Mengikut tanpa soal banyak, rupanya salah station.

Train journey to Gapyeong Station took nearly 2 hours. Sila imagine kami langsung ndak dapat duduk throughout the journey. Tapi ndak kisahlah sebab kami bercerita non stop. Ntah topik apa jak yang kami cover.

Hmm suddenly soal diri bila nampk view di atas. Sekarang autumn ka winter. Sebab bila bercakap, mulut siap keluar asap.

Autumn Trip Day 3 - To The Different Cafe (My Lovely Girl)

Assalamualaikum.

Another mission for this trip; accomplished! I noticed this cafe in the Episode 7 of the recently famous Kdrama; My Lovely Girl. Through the cafe's name To The Different, immediately I searched for it in the internet. That includes the naver (Korean 'google' site). But to no avail.

I have to go to this cafe. So I said to myself. And in order to get there, I need to find its exact location. I can be extra hardworking when I have something to 'achieve'. Hence it's no surprise after searching high & low, I dropped a comment at this blog (among the most frequent visited by Yours Truly). Asking the author to help me 'look' for the cafe as well. Few days after I posted the comment, I received a reply from him. He found the cafe!!

Once I got the address, I searched for it in the naver. Walla! There it is! Since the latest updated map of the area is in 2012, I didn't see the cafe building but the most important part is for me to know the route.

I went to this cafe on my third day in South Korea, the evening after I got back from Sokcho.

Taken from the living area. The guesthouse is located at the 2nd Floor. It's above the C2U convenient store.

Lobby cum living area.
Laluan to guest rooms. Pamphlets & maps are provided. Take as many as u want; they are free.

Smiley pillow welcomed me upon entering the room. I absolutely love this room! Tidur berguling sampai pi lantai malam tu. Tettttt!
I have my own bathroom. With tub! That evening, I 'wallow' in the tub for nearly two hours. Sambil layan blues.
London; checked. Bangkok; checked. Seoul; checked. LA? Hmmm...long pause.
I saw this on the wall the day I arrived but I haven't got the chance to asked neither Callen nor Lilly; where they got this map. For God sake, it's my hometown! Gaya Street is a famous street in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Before I checked out, I got the chance to ask Lilly.

"Where u got this?"
"That? Ah...we went to Kota Kinabalu. Last year. A lady gave us. We breakfast, she gave us. Olde Kopi..kopitiyem?"
"Kopitiam. OMG Lilly, this is my hometown!!"
"Really? Ouh! U know, I love Kota Kinabalu. People very nice."
"Jeongmal? Joh-a? Gomawoyo. Sokcho, Kota Kinabalu...tukate? Near beach, nice sunset."
"Ouh yes yes hahahhaha. Hanguk, good!" <---- her favourite phrase.
"I can speak & understand; jogeum."
"Ouh ok ok hahaha it's good enough."

She speaks minimal English, and I speak very very minimal Hangul. But we somehow understood what we tried to say. Lilly is a very energetic & full of joy kinda person. U can't help but to laugh whenever she started laughing...and shouted her famous phrase "ouh yes yes...hahaha". Contagious laughter she possess!

Would wish to return to this guesthouse if I happened to visit Sokcho again. God's willing, one day!

It will take about 10 minutes walking to the town area (City Hall & Intercity Bus Terminal) but you can also take the bus which is situated right in front of the guesthouse. Or for more fun & adventurous experience, try cycling. You can borrow the bicycle from them. I saw two pink bikes (with basket in front) at the guesthouse entrance. Too bad my legs weren't in good condition to cycle during my visit. Else, I could have visit the lighthouse in the evening. And catch the sunrise at the Sunrise Pavillion.

Next time, perhaps!

What I miss doing...

...catching sunset! It's been a while. It's been eons. Wish I could do this in one of these days. I miss doing what I love & enjoyed doing. I was looking at my albums in the fb & I came across the "Sunset at Tanjung Aru" & "Awan Langit Matahari" albums. Full of memories.

Yes, I have a severe addiction for sunset. But lately I haven't had the time to enjoy one. Too bad! Perhaps my time management is getting worst. Boohoo!

Here are some of the pictures I took. To quote my most-heard phrase whenever I see the sun sets "Berdarah mata! Nangis darah!"

Fyi, two of my most favorite spots to catch sunset are from my bedroom & Tanjung Aru. Jom layan gambar! .

To quote a friend;

"Semangat kan kau update kalau trip balik kampong."

Mbek mbek. Hanya mampu bagi senyuman manis, I let the bunyi kambing mengembek be the background music.

Pagi tu aku bangun dengan senyuman lebar. Kaki sudah sihat sepenuhnya wei! Terima kasih ice pack, jasa anda dikenang. Terimah kasih Cik Dayang, bebelan anda berguna. Else I wouldn't have thought to buy the hot/cold pack. Didn't know it did wonder to my aching calves. Lepas jamu perut sama bubur, aku pun teruskan misi. Budak Seremban dua orang tu maybe sudah gerak awal lagi because I saw no one at the guesthouse that morning.

Memories of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta!

Assalamualaikum.

Movie Ada Apa Dengan Cinta memang top bigbang masa zaman aku di UiTM dulu. Sanggup beli kaset guna duit PT.

Sebenarnya paling aku ingat cerita ni bukan sebab Rangga yang pertama2 BUT the strong sister-friendship bond between the girls.

Part Rangga tu aku ingat lepas kejadian bingai yang 'menimpa' one of my bestie back then. It was indeed the most epic sebab sampai sekarang jadi bahan among us.

Masa tu Cik Kapas mau pulang pi Kolumpor for good. Kiranya chances untuk bersua muka lepas tu berkurengan compare to zaman kuliah. Memang everyday terpaksa terima keadaan harus menatap muka 'feminat setia'. Then the boy decided to reenacted the scene where Cinta cried at the glass window because she had to sent Rangga away to New York. Only masa ni, the situation was vice versa. No one saw whether the 'feminat setia' shed tears or not...but that glass window scene was more than enough to make it the 'joke of the century' between us.

Cik Kapas is a die-hard fan of this movie. In fact, she was the one who introduced the movie to us. The housemates. We watched the movie together at our rented house. And yes, thanks to Rangga Pintu Kaca because he was the one who gave the cd as a gift to her.

When Cik Kapas posted & tagged me the AADC (2014) in her instagram account, I couldn't help but to dragged myself to walked down memory lane. I admitted there are just too many bittersweet memories related to this movie. Satusatu kenangan zaman study dulu bermain di layar fikiran.

Kalau ikut hati, boleh jatuh rebah menangis. Few thing I did that I regretted so much. But never for once I wished to turn back time. Things happened for a reason, kita manusia kena terima semua dengan redha.

"Jadi beda satu purnama di New York dan di Jakarta?"

Tapi aku pasti akan kembali
dalam satu purnama
untuk mempertanyakan kembali cintanya...

Bukan untuknya, bukan untuk siapa
Tapi untukku
karena aku ingin kamu
Itu saja...

Melampau betul si Rangga kan. Janji satu purnama, tapi 12 tahun baru dia muncul. Nasib baik si Cinta still single kan. As for our Cik Kapas & Rangga Pintu Kaca? Cerita diorang sudah lama tutup buku, both pun sudah beranak pinak. Lambat sangat mau tunggu satu purnama kali kan. Oppss!

Ada Apa Dengan Cinta, jjang! Now I can't stop humming its soundtracks. Berhantu gila.

Autumn Trip Day 2 - Abai Village, Sokcho

Assalamualaikum.

Seoul to Sokcho (here).

Aku sempat bentang map Sokcho dalam bilik, mau kenalpasti pekan ni dengan mendalam kaedahnya. And aku decide untuk berwalkertapaki jak petang tu. Kasi exercise sikit kaki aku yang lemah gemalai, over manja! The next day kan plan mau panjat Soraksan; walau halfway tu akan bakal naik cable car. Ahaks. So untuk elak kaki terkejut beruk, betterlah bagi hint dulu.

Sarung boots, maka mari kita mula misi. Rasakan!

Hilly terrain berpisah tiada with South Korea.
Barulah fefeeling local.
Because Sokcho is located near Donghae (oppa?), back in the days this place is also known as a fishing village.
Finally! Inilah New York yang dimaksudkan si Jea tu.

"Bie, kalau ko jumpa New York...meaning dah dekat area gatbae boat tu."

She repeated this for umpteenth times! Pasal tu nampak jak lembu ni, terus aku senyum lebar.
Motif sangat kan minah tu panggil New York.
Considering still banyak masa lagi before layan sunset di San Francisco bridge, aku pun melangkah masuk Caffe Bene.
Sambil percubaan untuk snap gambar that man at the corner. Failed! Boleh kan time tu dia khusyuk menghadap pc. Walhal before tu dia senyum sama aku. Fine! Kedekut muka. Taulah separa handsome + segak.
Lepas membasahkan tekak & frust Oppa Bene ndak mau masuk gambar, aku patah balik pi area si New York ni. And jalan pi kanan.
In less than a minute...tadaaaa! Jumpa sudah the Blue San Francisco bridge! Motif ntah apa lah semua nama pun State-related.
One of the SF bridges. Aku lepak area facing this bridge for a while. Sambil layan hirup hot drink aku hangkut dari CB tadi.

Tarik nafas dalam2, hembus lambat2. My most precious me-time. Bila jalan sendiri ni, aku memang banyak buat aktiviti timbang-tara diri sendiri. Trip kali ni memang langsung ndak da details itinerary. Aku just list down places to go, mana sempat aku jejak. Ndak sempat, boleh try jejak next trip.

Sedang layan perasaan, datang penyakit mengada. Mau gambar full frame untuk tunjuk sama Bunda kununnya. Betapa anak dia berperangai parah during this trip. Minta lah tolong sama sorang minah ni. Kongkengkong speaking...sekali dapat tau she is from Seremban. Dang!! Whathehantu betul kan!

Lepas sesi ramah mesra suam-suam kuku, so tiba masa untuk naik gatbae boat menuju ke seberang.
Para cyclist waiting for the gatbae boat to cross over the Cheongcho Lake.

Fare is 200 KRW one way.  The Boat Ahjussi asked me to give it a try. I did pulled the rope using that thing but I forgot to ask him to take my pic. Sobs.
The gatbae boat moves by pulling that iron rope.
Mission to trace Autumn in My Heart filming location; accomplished! This is one of the first few movies that introduced me to Korea. It's one of my favorite!
Eun Seo Nae Jib. This is the shop that was used as Eun Seo's mother's restaurant. Penangan drama, it is still in business up to this day. K-variety show 2Days1Night pun pernah buat filming di kedai ni.
The Abai Village
"Abai" means "parent" or "aged person" in the dialect of Hamgyeong-do. Many of the people living in Abai are older North Koreans who fled to this area of Cheongho-dongvduring the civil war and never were able to go back home. Originally 3000 people came to Abai Village from North Korea, and now 200 are still here. Only 8 have applied for family reunification to resume residency in North Korea. source google

I walked from the blue bridge towards the other bridge; the pink one.
View of the entire village from up here is magnificent! I could see the lighthouse & sunrise pavilion that are located merely 2km away.
Would really love to walk to the pavilion but I don't think my legs could endure. Hence I cancelled the plan to enjoy Sokcho view at night. Tengok dari kejauhan jak lah.
Replicas of daily items of the North Korean refugees at the time of their arrival to Sokcho were displayed under the SF bridge.
Apart from fishing, the refugees also practiced farming.
I didn't explore farther into the village because I didn't know I could do so. Rugi gila! I thought orang yang melepak dekat area lighthouse tu semua orang di Abai ni. When I saw a bunch of Chinese tourist coming out from the village, it was already dusk. No point lah mau jalan masuk kampung orang di waktu senja kan. So aku naik gatbae boat to return to where I came.
Layan sunset depan tasik. Not that great as it was a bit hazy that evening. Matahari memancar for only a good 10 minutes. Sendu.
There are many choices of seafood restaurants near the gatbae boat jetty.
Of course lepas berjalan for more than 2 hours, perut pun mula main lagu rock & roll. Lapaq baq hang! Masalah juga kalau spoil with too many choices ni, aku jadi bingai memilih. Mula mau masuk resto yang 2D1N buat filming dulu tapi kena buka kasut lah pula. Part ni lah paling aku menyampah sekali.
Then I saw this restaurant. Ok ada kerusi, meaning boleh masuk & terjah makan without having to take off my shoes. Kita serbu.
It would be great kalau pi in group. Baru feeling Korean, makan atas lantai ondol.
I wanted to try the famous dish in Sokcho; the Abai soondae. Sedap! Although ada alergic sama seafood, demi mau try aku sumbat lah juga few potong. Sedap! Eh sudah cakap tadi, But seriously, sedap!
But in Sokcho, they use squid instead. Sumbat sama either daging or nasi. Jeoneun goki anmeokeoyo (I don't eat meat). So she recommended the Abai soondae.
My dinner! Ini bukan alas perut, ni more to mentekedarah. Semua tu aku balun sorang. My dinner cost me 22,000KRW.
Seriously automatically aku kebulur bila terbau ikan bakar super sedap, maka aku pun tambah order. Ahjumma was a bit surprised. Mesti pelik jak Ahjumma tu. Apa kes sorang tapi makan macam ada 2 perut? Dari pagi cuma sempat makan bubur Ahjumma oiii, pastu berjalan sikit punya banyak km. Jadi berbaloi lah mentekedarah, ganti balik kalori yang terbakar. Kalau ada yang terbakar lah kan.
Entrance to Sokcho Jungang Market.
Mau turunkan makanan, biar digest betul before aku balik bilik. Sebab nanti sampai bilik sure aku akan mandi & terus tidur. Not good for the perut kata ku! Nanti jadi kerbau.
Sorak Fried chicken.
Malam tu memang nampak ramai local & even tourist angkut kotak ni. Snack malam paling ideal di Sokcho, lagi masyuk kalau dijadikan peneman soju. Nampak sedap tapi takat tu jaklah aku mampu jamu mata.
View I saw on the way back to the guesthouse.
Ingatkan mau posing sama si New York tapi malam tu he was a bit famous pula. Ramai gila orang mau bergambar sama dia juga. Forgo jaklah idea asal. Cuci mata jaklah tengok kedai sepanjang jalan balik guesthouse. Banyak buat sales, jacket & coat murah2.tapi aku berfikiran macamana mau hangkut semua. Backpack rasa macam full gila. Cukuplah membeli terbelah Bie oii, gitu getus minda sama hati.

Sampai guesthouse, masa on the way masuk bilik aku limpas kitchen. Suddenly nampak 2 orang yang familiar. Choi sangat! Rupanya minah Seremban & her friend yang aku jumpa di jeti petang tadi. Yang aku goreng speaking sebab mau minta tolong ambil gambar tu. Bergegar ketawa kami bila masing like "Eh, kenal!" Ndak sangka lah kami stay tempat yang sama. Kecil betul kah Sokcho ni kan. They offered me to join them to hike Soraksan the next morning. Aku risau jak nanti diorang kelambatan mendaki sebab terpaksa tunggu aku si Kaki Lemah ni. Gagah ok, walhal baru 2 hari diorang sampai dari Jeju. And di sana pun diorang daki Hallasan tu.

I told them, kalau terjumpa di Sorak I will join them insha Allah IF masa tu kaki aku sudah ok. If not, cable car jak lah medium aku untuk sampai atas. Malam tu tidur dengan sangat best sebab kaki aku stop meragam, cramp pun ndak da sudah. Berusaha aku tuam guna ice pack I bought that morning. Tilam adalah empuk, selesa...maka si Err tidur sambil tripping sleeping beauty. Kena rest secukupnya, the next day mau berkinja tengok autumn foliage.
