Land of Ong Bak Day 3 - Terminal 21, Bangkok / Dinner at Beirut Restaurant, Pat Phong

Assalamualaikum. สวัสดี!

Sambungan dari sini

While drafting the itinerary for this trip, I deliberately put Terminal 21 in the list. Lepas baca entry si Diana, terus aku pun terkinja mau jejakkan kaki. As said previously, misi trip kali ni adalah untuk keluar masuk mall sebanyak mungkin. Burning holes in the pockets kununnya. Semangat sangat mau bertema bagai.

On our first night in Bangkok, a friend commented on my status in fb insisting me to have pay Terminal 21 a visit. Also the department store (was it Robinson if I'm not mistaken) next to it. Excitedly I told her, I already have the mall in our list. Wajib pigi; as per her. Especially the restroom at each levels. Gitu kan arahan.

So yeah. Tujuan pigi sini memang untuk keluar masuk the restrooms! Boleh jak kan perangai gitu. Demi restroom! Apart from the restroom, I was excited to explore every floors as well.

Terminal 21 is known for its unique concept & design. It consists of 9 Floor in which each floor is designed after famous cities in the world such as Rome, Paris, Tokyo & San Francisco.

1 July 2014
Terminal 21, Bangkok
Terminal 21 is accessible via BTS Asoke Station (Exit 1) & MTR Sukhumvit Station (Exit 3).
Feeling tengok arrival / departure board di airport. Below this board is the information counter. The visitors could get the password for the free wifi facility here. Just show the 'flight attendants' ur passport. And don't forget the mall directory as well. We did neither! Ntah lah kenapa that crucial info lesap dari kepala once we entered the mall. Too excited an adrenaline pump I reckoned!
Perhaps that's a hint...LA, SF or Isketambola? Hmmm.
Paris
Mirrors represent Paris; perhaps?
This obviously represents Japan.
Nakamise-dori? Or is it Harajuku? Ceh mentang2 sudah menjejak Tokyo kan.
Siaplah ceiling decorated with sakura wallpaper kan...gigih sangat ni.
Next...we're leaving for London.
This definitely symbolizes London!
Memang ndak da kerja. Masuk restroom at each level just to snap pic! Aigoo perangai.
Photo-op. I personally love this spot.
Haven't been to the real San Francisco yet...so jejak level with its name pun jadilah. Who knows one day akan mampu menjejak. Yes?
Gini kali suasana di SF.
Love this. Colorful theme.
Walau cuma the mini version of the infamous Golden Gate Bridge...
This is where the cinemas located.
Macam grand jak feeling beli popcorn di level ni. Aku rasa cinema di Bangkok ni memang level kebabom. Tengok semua macam first class GSC jak style dia.

Siap meronda we decided to leave the mall. Next adalah menjejak night market. Impian untuk terjah department store adalah ke laut due to time constraint. A friend suggested that we should go to Khaosan Road but Ms G wanted to go to Pat Phong. Considering this was an impromptu plan, I didn't have the direction to Pat Phong. So we asked the personnel at the BTS Station. She told us to take the MRT to Silom Station.

Pat Phong
The view we saw along the way to the night market.
Pastu tengah menapak cari hala sebenar night market ni, tetiba aku nampak BTS Sala Daeng Station ! Like, whathehantu betul lah. Kami beli day pass, and we paid a different fare because we took the MRT. Kalau tau ada skytrain, memang confirm ndak ku pandang MRT tu. Sudahlah jauh di bawah tanah kami menapak turun just to board the train. Siap ada body-scanner bagai. Fuh!

So sila ingat Bie, BTS Sala Daeng Station is much nearer to the market compare to the MRT Silom Station! Just exit the station via the right-hand stairs. And walk by following the trails of increasing vendors along the sidewalk. Tapi macam ndak akan jejak lagi Pat Phong ni tau. Ngeks.
Our verdict about this night market in Pat Phong? *clearing throat* We don't like it here! It is totally a wrong decision coming here. But, ndak palah. As per Ms G, for the sake of experience. Alkisah sangat!
Upon entering the night market, Ms G went to one of the vendor & asked the Ahjumma how much the keychain cost. Lepas Ahjumma bagitau harga, Ms G said thanks & was about to leave. Next thing she knew, Ahjumma tu grabbed her wrist tightly & refused to let her go. She was forced to purchase the keychain! Sudahlah mahal dari yang kami beli di MBK Mall! Malas mau argue, Ms G pun beli jaklah. And that was the last time we approached the sellers there. Jalan sampai hujung market, kedai kiri kanan memang mostly pub. Ok, tu memang kami aware sebab area Pat Phong pun kan. Tapi cara sellers tu meninguk kami memang bikin takut. Seriau ok mau tanya harga. Nanti kena tahan & paksa beli lagi.

I tried asking at one of the gerai, and the Ahjumma replied

"How much u want? How many?"

Ha...dengar jak tu. Terus aku say thank you. And blah! Kalau stay lama ndak pasal jak kena paksa beli lagi. Kami ndak lama di pasar ni, lepas tawaf seround...terus cabut. We concluded Pat Phong night market is so not our cup of tea.

On the way to Dala Saeng station, I saw a signboard of a halal restaurant. Memang sedang lapar & super thirsty, thus we decided to go in. It is located at a ground floor in a department store. Don't ask about the exact location because I forgot to look for the store's name.
Our dinner on our second night in Bangkok. Beirut dishes.
Hows the food here? Bolehlah untuk melepas lapar. Nothing extraordinary about their meals. Service cepat; we didn't have to wait long for our order to be served. Tengah makan, I called one of the waiter. And ask whether the restaurant provide free wifi. Upon hearing yes, I requested for the password. He asked me to wait & called his boss. When the boss came, he asked for my handphone because he has to enter the password personally. Username? "Virus". Gulp! Turned out, the wifi at the restaurant is not meant for the customer(s). But considering his worker had unintentionally told me that they have wifi, the boss terpaksarela key in the password for us. Nasiblah kan dapat customers attached sama gadget ni.

TAPI ni kalau jadi di KK, paling pun bos tu akan cakap...

"Sorry ah password wifi kami bertukar tiap hari. Manager in charge ndak datang, so kami memang ndak tau password."

Heck yes! Sebab aku pernah terkena 3x! The same bloody replies from 3 different places. Walhal depan kedai ada tulis "free wifi". Free sangat!

Anyway after isi perut, we went back to our hotel. Malam masih muda but we decided to called the night off. Esok pagi akan mengukur tanah Bangkok. Siap sedia lah lumur muka & badan dengan sunblock as the weather is forecasted to be super hot the next day. Ready untuk jadi udang bakar!

Agak ganas gak vendor kat sana kan. Aku ingat lemah gemalai sebab cara diorang cakap kan lembut je. Memang seram. Nak lagi tengok ada Abjussi kedai tu bertatu bagai.

JM kena gi juga ni. Fefeeling Europe sangat kalau. Tapi x round habis, xlarat sebab dah malam lagipun. Singgah restroom bukan sebab sakit perut tapi nak amik gambar semata. Gi mall ni kena gi toilet sekali sebab unik.
